NEW YORK -- Since retiring Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter's farewell tour doesn't include a stop in Cincinnati, the Reds brought some gifts to pay their respects on Saturday at Yankee Stadium.

During an on-field presentation from general manager Walt Jocketty and third baseman Todd Frazier, Jeter was gifted framed autographed jerseys from the Reds' two greatest shortstops, Davey Concepcion and Barry Larkin, who were also the club's two previous team captains.

Included in the frame were photos from June 3, 2003, the day Jeter was named the 14th Yankees captain before a game vs. the Reds at Great American Ball Park.

"If you're looking to play baseball and you want to be like somebody, definitely him," Frazier said. "When you think of shortstops in the American League, I think of Derek Jeter, especially in this era coming up. Ozzie Smith, you think of just certain guys, Cal Ripken, they're all on that same page. For him to go out like this, go out on top, hopefully they can make the playoffs for him, too, and that'd be pretty nice to see what happens."
