Right-hander Luis Severino, the Yankees' No. 9 prospect, according to MLB.com, threw six scoreless innings on Thursday in Class A Advanced Tampa's 4-3 win over Lakeland.
Severino struck out six batters, walked two and gave up two hits. He has thrown back-to-back shutout outings after throwing six hitless innings against Clearwater last week.
Severino began the season with Class A Charleston and was promoted to Tampa at the All-Star break last month. In 17 starts between the two levels, he is 4-3 with a 2.56 ERA. He has 90 strikeouts and 19 walks in 84 1/3 innings.
Severino is a native of the Dominican Republic and will pitch for the World team in the Sirius XM All-Star Futures Game at Target Field.
Outfielder Aaron Judge, the Yanks' No. 8 prospect, hit a three-run home run on Thursday to lead Tampa's offense. He has homered in three straight games and finished 1-for-2 with two runs, two walks and three RBIs.
Like Severino, Judge began the season in Charleston. In 13 games since his promotion, Judge is hitting .302/.474/.651 with three home runs.
