Few pieces of sportswear are as iconic or recognizable as a New York Yankees cap, and now visitors to Yankee Stadium can trace the history of that classic item thanks to an exhibit opened this season by New Era.

Part of the Yankees Museum, the exhibit is presented by Bank of America and will be available for viewing all season. It is open during Yankee Stadium tours and on game days, from two hours prior to first pitch until the end of the eighth inning.

The exhibit includes New Era caps from the early 1930s to the present, representing the company's long partnership with pro baseball teams.

Highlights include New Era's earliest Yankees cap, the first of the signature 59Fifty line (which debuted in 1954), and the red cap that the company made by special request for director Spike Lee ahead of the 1996 World Series.
