ST. PETERSBURG -- The Yankees successfully challenged a call at first base involving Ichiro Suzuki in the second inning of Friday's game against the Rays at Tropicana Field.

With a runner on second base and no outs, Ichiro dropped a bunt down the third-base line. Evan Longoria fielded the ball and whipped it to first base, where umpire Marty Foster ruled Ichiro out on a close play.

Yankees manager Joe Girardi challenged the call, which was overturned following a video review of 47 seconds. Ichiro was credited with a hit on the play. It was part of a four-run inning for the Yankees against Tampa Bay left-hander Erik Bedard, highlighted by Scott Sizemore's three-run double earlier in the frame.

New York's fourth run scored one batter after Ichiro's hit, as Brett Gardner beat out a potential double-play grounder as Sizemore crossed the plate.
