NEW YORK -- The Yankees and Red Sox were delayed for 16 minutes in the home half of the 12th inning on Friday due to what was believed to be a power surge at Yankee Stadium.
The Red Sox left the playing field while Yankees electricians turned on additional light banks that are normally off above the right and left field foul poles while other lights were rebooted.
When play resumed, Carlos Beltran struck out swinging to open the home half of the 12th.
